Mrs Waltraud Torossian−Brigasky has shown special care in promoting peoples´ education and health while maintaining their cultural heritage and dignity in all of her more than 30 projects, which she carried out between 1997 to 2006.
Mrs Torossian returned from her 2nd visit to the tremor−stricken areas of the Pakistan Kashmir on February 8th, 2006.

From the beginning Mrs Torossian´s help for the people in the remote valleys of the Karakoram have notably comprised the financing, designing and construction of:
- several Girls´ Schools (where girls previously had had no education at all) and her initial support for these institutions,
- several Health Centres in remote villages,
- drinking water and agricultural irrigation systems for the villages of the region,
- as well as granting scholarships for the gifted and aiding the sick and needy.
One of her cultural achievements for the local population is the promotion and revival of the region´s proud national POLO sport when it was already facing extinction in the 1990´s.
Acknowledging her merits, both the Minister for Education in Austria and the President of the Republic of Pakistan honoured her in 2005 and 2006, respectively.
Helping spontaneously, Mrs Torossian has furthermore personally attended to and organised
- immediate personal relief operations after devastating earthquakes:
(1) Nanga Parbat 2002: 50 families were given house tents within weeks of the quake,
(2) Pakistan Kashmir region, in 2005 and in 2006: 700 families received building material, tools and household necessities to reconstruct their homes,
and more recently travelled to the Lebanon after the 2006 war, taking note of the most desperate needs of the local population and helping where she could (notably through scholarships for students and support for the needy).
Mrs Torossian´s projects have been supported by students, individuals, by Austrian Lions, by the Vienna Airport Authority as well as by public subsidies.
Mrs Torossian´s Community Support MTCSngo, which as an Austrian−registered institution is subject to stringent Austrian and EU regulations, supports Mrs Waltraud Torossian−Brigasky´s initiatives and projects for the local communities, families and individuals.
